Description

A slim, well proportioned Scottish Georgian period mahogany longcase clock. A swan-neck hood pediment with central brass finial. Brass capped corinthium hood columns. Fluted trunk sides. Marquetry inlays to the trunk door and base panel. Choice flame mahogany veneers. Banded hood inlays and side glass apertures. A brass dial with silvered chapter ring with seconds dial. A quality 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

Robert Bryson of Edinburgh is recorded in Whytes' 'Scottish Watch and Clockmakers' book as working from 1810-1850.
