Description

A good and classic victorian inlaid corner whatnot in excellent original condition.

Overall height 57 inches.

This whatnot has four tiers and is veneered in highly figured burr walnut. Each level is inlaid with the typical urn and trailing vine motif. The pillars are turned and have a spiral centre section. The fretted gallery to the top level is original and undamaged. The whatnot is sturdy and the joints are tight. Beware the "falling to pieces models"!

Altogether a good example of this decorative, useful and iconic item of antique furniture.
