Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The base of the stand was originally engraved J.R.D and dated 5th June 1895, making this a true Victorian example.
The cocktail shaker is placed in the galleried holder with the top taken off.
The shaker can then be removed, the lid replaced and the contents shaken.

The underside is struck with the silversmith's initials, W W H for William Wheatcroft Harrison (1857-1896), it is also marked S for Sheffield and EP for Eletro-plated.
A fabulous and really interesting piece in excellent condition. The base measures 4 7/8" in diameter, the cocktail shaker measures 6 1/2" tall, and the entire piece 10 1/2" tall.
