London Fine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The chair has good seat width (49cm or 19.3") which combined with the shape of the lath back offers great comfort and therefore makes the chair an excellent choice as a regular daily use chair (see images for full dimensions).

The broad top rail is supported by nicely swept outer risers which terminate in a desirable turned bobbin.
There is a lightness to the tone of the timbers which displays the beauty of the grain.
The chair rides upon double turned legs which are united by a double 'H' stretcher for maximum robustness and durability.

This chair will make a charming addition to any home and is an example which delivers great character and warmth. The chair is comfortable and solid throughout.
