London Fine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
This well proportioned and very functional piece offers both beauty and style. Fine carving throughout, including a wonderful lower frieze, deep colour and patina all combine to produce a superb feeling of warmth to the whole.

A pair of very unusually styled serpentine shaped hand carved field panel doors open to reveal a generous lower cabinet area with central shelf. The doors benefit from fine brass extended lock escutcheons and a large working lock with original oversize key, and hang on splendid tall 'show' hinges.

Twin drawers with carved detail offer storage for cutlery and smaller items.
The upper section of the dresser is perfect for display with twin galleries and a hooded top with cabinet doors below a concave crown moulding. Another beautiful carved frieze is incorporated below the upper cabinets and this ties the piece together aesthetically.

The wonderful look and versatility of this unusual item of furniture ensures that it will look as at home in the kitchen as it will in the dining or common areas.
The construction of the piece is excellent and the whole is presented in good antique order. A charming antique which piece provides great interest.
