Antique Large Giltwood Overmantle Mirror

Description

A superb quality English 19th century regency type over mantel mirror. This massive overmantle giltwood gilt mirror retains the original sparkly silver backed glass plate. This overmantel is signed by the most desirable and collectable London maker Nosotti. The original brass plaque is retained on the back of the mirror. The whole is gilded in a 24 ct gold leaf with trailing wheat husks and surmounted by a central carved pediment.

Excellent original condition with no gold overpainting. Circa 1870. Measures 60”w x 78”h x 2”d.
