Description

About as grand and decorative as they come, a wonderful statement piece whether you use it to cover the Turkey or sit it in the centre of a table or sideboard simply to admire it's beauty.

This huge example measures 20" x 14 1/2" x 12" tall and weighs around 4 kilos or around 9 pounds.

The dome is beautifully embossed with a swirled fluted design with highly decorative repousse floral and foliate motifs to top and bottom, all hand-chased to finish off this top notch example.

The interior reveals both an English maker's mark and Irish retailer's mark. The silversmith's mark, (C.E over N) inside a trefoil, is for Charles Edward Nixon of Sheffield. The retailers mark is for Gibson and Son Ltd., Belfast.

A magnificent piece in superb condition.
