P A Oxley Antique Clocks & Barometers has dated this piece to the 1880s.
The 8 day duration chain fusee movement with anchor escapement. The 12" round white dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands. The mahogany case with access doors to the bottom and the side of the case. The glazed access door with a flat glass and brass bezel.
Note: James Shoolbred established a drapery business in the 1820’s in Tottenham Court Road, London. By the 1870’s the store was noted for its substantial and elegant displays of Home Furnishings.
