Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1860s.
The inlay is made from burl Holly bordered each side by Satinwood.

The top is mounted with a gilded brass handle and the front is inlaid with a diamond shaped Mother of pearl escutcheon. There is a display key with tassle, but it is not functioning but creates a highly decorative finished look.

The interior has been professionally re-lined in a linen textured hand-marbled paper creating a clean and fresh finish, ready for use. Excellent condition (one little veneer repair at rear, mentioned purely for accuracy). 10 5/8" x 7 1/4" x 3 1/2".
