Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The month cards, made from a bone or Ivory celluloid material, are printed both sides (six cards) with the months of the year, a few a little worn, for instance "March" has been hand -inked to revive at some point.

The inkstand and calendar are fitted around the glass inkwell, a good hefty piece of glass was used and even cut on the underside before assembly. Cast into the base is a deep channel acting as a pen rest for one's dip pen.

Excellent condition (a tiny dimple to the domed lid - mentioned purely for accuracy). The footprint measures 4" x 4 3/4" x 3 3/4" tall.
