Description

An absolutely exquisite set of postage scales signed Howell, James & Co, Regent St., London; top-notch Jewellers and silversmiths, noted for their quality luxury goods; this these scales dating to around 1880.

The base is mounted with a thick twisted rope mount and a smaller one surrounding the caddy to hold the weights; the brass is covered in exquisite engraving.

Each of the pans is made from hand-painted porcelain, each featuring an adorable cherub figure.

The creme de la creme in every way, in superb condition. The base measures 7" x 5 1/8" the pans spanning 7 3/4" and standing 6 1/4" to tallest point.
