A rare small verge escapement wall clock. A 4 1/2" brass dial signed 'EDW SMITH NEWBURY' to the arch. Blued steel hands. A 30 hour duration timepiece mechanism with verge escapement. Rope driven single weight.

Edward Smith of Newbury is recorded in Loomes' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working in 1830.
