An Extremely Rare Victorian Sprung Coin Purse in Hallmarked Silver.

A most unusual Victorian silver coin purse. The frame is in hallmarked silver and has a spring mechanism, fastened with a catch. Inside it has two small coin purses, made of fine quality leather and silk moire lined. To the spine there is an aperture for a pencil and an attaching ring, suggesting that it may have been worn on a chatelaine or fob. An interesting and rare collector's item.

Condition :- Very good, with no dents or splits and the spring mechanism is robust. There is some surface scratching on the silver and some light wear to the outside of the leather, both commensurate with age and use. There are no tears to the leather inside.

Hallmarks :- Corresponding part marks to each side.
