Ebonised Rush Seated Chair - Aesthetic Period - c1890

The chair is presented in solid order throughout with strong joints and the cross-weave rush seat pad is in good condition.
The chair rides upon elegant front legs with turned out foot. These are united by a box stretcher creating a robust and attractive base for this lovely chair.

A trio of bobbin turned seat back supports are flanked by a turned main frame under a pierced and shaped header rail. Additional interest is provided with the gilt accenting throughout the chair.
With a good 43cm (16.9") seat height this chair is suitable as a desk chair, side chair or simply as a decorative piece.
