London Fine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
This lovely Regency period gout stool is in good original condition.
The stool displays a pleasing shape with deep sides.
The upper is covered with a heavy needlepoint tapestry textile depicting an eagle central motif. The fabric benefits from considerable age and displays well with the matching braid trim. There is one small split seam as seen in the images.

The mahogany moulded frame shows to the lower section and the stool terminates with mini-bun feet.
Overall a lovely footstool and piece of furniture which is both functional and looks attractive.
