Description

An absolutely fabulous and rare pair of letter or postage scales by the creme de la creme of scale manufacturers, Sampson Mordan & Co. of London, signed across the balance.

The brass has been meticulously polished to gleam to create the most sensational desk top pair of scales. The weights are complete including the little topper and sit in their cradle to the front of the scales.

The frames around the porcelain are silver toned with an attractive Greek Key design. The porcelain pans are beautifully hand-painted and gilded.

The footprint measures 6 3/4" x 3" x 3 3/4" tall, they span in total 7 3/4" pan to pan and each pan measures 3 3/4" x 2 1/2".
