Small Antique English Silver Plated Meat or Food Dome - Fern Engraved C.1890

Description

A fabulous small oval shaped meat or food dome, dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890.

The handle and back-plate are decorated with large beads complimented be a beaded border running right around the base. The top is beautifully engraved with a variety of attractive ferns, very Victorian and very English.

Once side is engraved with the Chisholm family or Clan's crest with the motto engraved into the banner "Feros Ferio" - I am Fierce With the Fierce, the opposite side bears a monogram CAC. There is a folding hook which allows the dome to hung when not in use.

A beautiful example in excellent condition. 10" x 8" x 7 1/2" to top of handle.
