Early 19th C. Flame Mahogany Pedestal Sideboard

This fine quality early 19th C. mahogany sideboard has a beautifully figured Cuban mahogany oblong top above three flame mahogany cushion shaped drawers, one central with two flanking. The drawers are oak lined with a decorative mould running along the base.

The top is supported by two flame mahogany pedestals with carved pilasters flanking each door that have central dome shaped panels and are raised on their original plinths. Behind each door you have storage space with the right hand pedestal having an adjustable sliding shelve and the left one fixed.

This sideboard was made with fantastic quality flame mahogany veneers that give the piece a delightful colour and presence and you can really see why they are called “flame” veneers. The sideboard has been carefully restored by using a traditional French polish method and will happily grace any home.
