The sterling silver lid is as pretty as a picture with a central domed shield-shaped vacant cartouche and surround with a floral and foliate repousse or embossed design, all surrounded by a beaded or rope edging.
The maker's initials are also present, N & H for the silversmith, Nathan & Hayes.
A superb example in excellent condition, measuring 2 3/4" x 2 7/8" x 1 3/4" tall.
