Early 19th Century Large, Gilded Picture Frame

Description

A large and imposing early 19th century gilded and gessoed picture frame.

This large wooden frame is in sound condition and the pale yellow base coat on the gesso shows through the gilding giving an exceptional and decorative finish which is uniform throughout.

The gilding could be buffed for a higher shine if required.

A fine frame with good tight joints and equally useful for the purpose of framing a picture or, indeed a mirror.

This large size of frame is very difficult to find making this a particularly rare item.

Longest sides. 57.5 inches.

Shortest. 48 inches.
