Description

A charming little jewelry box standing on three cabriole legs with a wonderfully shaped lid. This lid is inset with a handsome piece of period Tortoiseshell with attractive colourings and markings. In turn, this is inlaid with an attractive silver pique decoration.

The lid fits well and once opened, reveals the original cream coloured velvet and silk lining.

The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham (Anchor rubbed) 1920, together withe the maker's initials HM for the silversmith, Henry Matthews.

Excellent condition, measuring 2 3/8" across the lid x 1 1/2" tall.
