Fabulous Antique English Silver Plated Wine Pourer by Elkington & Co. - 1859

Description

A wonderful and very usable table accessory, made from the creme de la creme of silver plate maker's, Elkington & Co.

This highly decorative accessory, wraps around the wine bottle and collar (Engraved " Claret ") sits under the collar of wine bottle, and the handle used to pour, beautifully decorated.

Being Elkington, it allows us to be able to date it, this one having the full Elkington mark and the date letter U for the year 1859; this piece clearly sat around at the silversmith's for some time as there is another registration mark, " August 9, 1864 ".

Excellent condition by the best of silversmith's, measuring approx. 8" in length.
