Description

A superb quality Victorian mahogany bookcase. The 2 plate glazed arched doors with wonderfully carved decoration, open to reveal 4 adjustable shelves. Below- 2 drawers with applied mouldings and brass handles. The base doors have matching carved detail and flame mahogany fielded panels. Crowned with a wonderful dentil cornice and carved swan neck pediment. This bookcase was probably a special commission due to height and quality . All the linings are solid mahogany including paneled back and shelves . All locks and hinges are best quality brass and stamped V.R. With keys. Size :- Max. height 102.3/4'' (261cm.) Max width 92.3cm. Max depth of base 18'' (46cm.) Depth of top 13'' (33cm.) Height of base 40.1/4'' (102cm.) Height of top 62.1/2'' (159cm.) . The top will accomodate books up to 11.1/2'' (29cm.) deep and a run of 150'' (381cm.) The base up to 14.1/2'' (37cm.) and book run of 64'' (163cm.). More pictures available on request.
