Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1890s.

The glass is perfect, with a cut decorated rim and a lip where the lid sits. The entire outside is decorated with acid etched Ferns, very Victorian and very English.
The lid is made from an antique piece of Tortoiseshell with a sterling silver (unmarked) knob to remove, and surrounded by pretty silver pique garland tied with a ribbon and bow.

Dating to around 1890, late Victorian in era, it remains in excellent condition, the base diameter measuring 4 3/4"; 4 3/4" to top of glass and 5 3/4" tall to top of lid finial.
