Description

An interesting cast brass rule, which would have been used by a Architect or Surveyor rolled up and down the drawing board, signed E. T. Newton and Son, Camborne, Cornwall, dating to the Edwardian era.

I have found some information of this company in the South West of England: Mathematical and scientific instrument and apparatus manufacturers, opticians. Specialities: surveying instruments, scientific instruments, and models of machinery, complete mining outfits, combined theodolite, miners' dial and dumpy level, Henderson's patent rapid traverser, tacheometers, transit theodolites, barometers, assaying balances, astronomical telescopes, drawing instruments, microscopes.

This handsome brass instrument comes in an equally handsome Mahogany case, both in excellent condition.

The rule measures 12 1/2" x 2 1/4" and the box measuring 13" x 3" x 1 5/8".
