Description

A rare Dr. Christopher Dresser designed spirit kettle on stand manufactured by " Benham and Froud" and bearing their famous "ORB" mark. The company had made the present dome and cross on St Pauls cathedral, London in 1821 when owned by John Richard and Edward Kepp and the orb could be seen from their shop in Chandos street, London, an identical kettle on stand can be viewed at The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, U.S.A. but this one has it's original snuffer. There are 4 dents to the kettle which could be removed if desired, otherwise in excellent condition. All pieces original. Stand wrought iron,balance weight-copper, spirit burner-copper, snuffer-copper,kettle-copper,brass & ebonised wood.

Stand height - 30" - 76cm

Kettle height - 9.5" - 24cm.
