Stunning Antique English Vanity Jar - Tortoiseshell & Sterling Silver Lid - 1910

Description

A wonderful large vanity jar in pretty etched glass with a sterling silver lid.

Not only is it a good size, but so is the exquisite decoration and excellent condition.

The jar itself beautifully engraved ... pretty as a picture with foliate garlands all round tied with ribbon and bows and hanging baskets of flowers; these just don't come along very often.

The lid is sterling silver hallmarked for Birmingham 1910 together with the makers initials.

The lid is set with a large piece of glossy tortoiseshell, with highly decorative silver pique inlay.

This is a really usable example in superb condition 3 1/4" tall with the lid having a diameter measuring 3 1/8".
