Boxed Set Twelve Victorian Fruit Knives & Forks - Mother of Pearl Handles

Description

A beautiful Victorian set of fruit or desert knives and forks, lovely to find a complete set of twelve; with stunning Mother of Pearl or Nacre handles with it's iridescent quality.

The set for twelve comes in it's original solid Mahogany presentation box and complete with working tasseled key. The interior of the box lavishly lined in an Amethyst coloured velvet and silk, almost looking untouched. Each knife and fork is decorated with an elegant engraving to the front, and each knife signed by the silversmith, "Maple London".

All in excellent condition. The knives measuring 6 7/8" long and the forks, 6 1/8" long. The presentation box measures 12 1/2" x 9" x 2 1/2". Dating to the late Victorian era, c.1890/1900.
