Description

A stunning little postal scale dating to around 1890 made from an ebonised wooden base which can be leveled with the aid of the screw to the right hand side,

The scale is made from solid cast brass which has been professionally re-polished to give a gleaming finish to the front. The pan is removable making it easy to travel with or store. The weight measurements on the front are of course grams as this example was clearly meant to remain on the continent. The front is signed N.B. for the French scale maker, Narcisse Briais of Paris.

A charming addition to a scale collection or a perfect desk-top accessory. Excellent condition, with a base measurement of 3 1/2" in diameter x 5 3/4" tall.
