Antique English Silver Plated Biscuit Box C.1880 - Ferns

Description

A most unusual oval shaped biscuit box with an integral tray standing on four wonderful paw feet; a very unusual feature are the two elegant handles at either end.

The box is decorated with a plethora of wonderful English Ferns, very British and very Victorian.

The hinged lid opens to reveal a nice clean interior, ready for use. There is a mark on the underside for the silversmith, Henry Hodson, Plante & Co., this mark having been used between 1882-1896.

Excellent condition spanning 10 1/4" handle to handle; the lid measuring 6 3/4" x 4 3/4" x 7 1/2" tall to top of finial.
