Description

A very stylish and highly unusual English biscuit box made from silver plate and beautifully engraved.

The hinged lid is topped with a figural finial in the form of a Wheatsheaf, with the handles in the form of ears of Wheat, most unusual.

The underside bears the full hallmark for the highly sought-after silversmith, William Hutton, dating to around 1880.

Excellent condition, with a footprint diameter measuring 6 3/4" and standing 8" tall to top of finial.
