Elegant Antique English Jewelry or Table Box C.1800 - Steel Mounts

Description

A wonderfully elegant Georgian box, perfect for a lady or gentleman, either to keep Jewellery, cufflinks, desk-top paraphernalia or perhaps stationery.

The box is made from Mahogany with a warm, rich and nutty colouring with decorative fittings made from steel, including the handle on the lid.

The drawer is kept lock when the lid is locked, with the aid of a brass pin, once this is removed, the drawer can then be opened.

The interior of the lid is lined in the original blue velvet with a central Mother of Pearl button. The box has been re-lined in a smart hand marbled paper, creating a clean, fresh finish ready for use.

Excellent condition complete with working tasselled key, measuring 10 1/2" x 8 3/4" x 4" tall.
