Antique English Clear & Cranberry Glass Match Striker - Sterling Silver, 1900

Description

A fabulous little Victorian match strike made from clear glass overlaid with a Cranberry colored threaded finish, in person the match strike actually is a deeper red colour.

There are vertical channels cut around the sphere, making this a particularly decorative example.

The sterling silver collar and match receptacle is hallmarked for Birmingham 1900 together with the makers initials H&T for the silversmith, Hilliard & Thomason.

Excellent condition, minor wear commensurate with age, measuring 2 1/4" in diameter x 1 7/8" tall.
