London Fine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1850s.
A gorgeous and unusual example of a Victorian Dressing Mirror.
This larger than average piece is in great order throughout.
The mirror plate is original and the surround is flame veneer mahogany.

To the side the locating side knobs are pleasingly turned and marry well with the scroll carved detail to the ends of the support frame.
The triple stepped plinth benefits from an attractive marble inset and sits over scroll carved feet.

Overall a nicely proportioned and attractive mirror in good antique order displaying pleasing patina. The unusual use of marble and the support design make this a desirable mirror for any collection. It is perfect as an everyday mirror or simply as a feature item.
