Atropos Antiques has dated this piece to the 1870s.
It would be ideal for such purpose again but will also lend itself to a multitude of other collecting pursuits.

The cabinet is constructed of oak with a simple but effective relief design to the doors and panelled sides. The drawers are mahogany and the bases have been renewed and lined with plastazote and the inner side walls of the drawers re-papered. The drawers have a concealed double cell to the front inside. All original lock, key, catches and hinges. A single ebonised or ebony knob to the drawers.

This cabinet is absolutely ready for use.
This is a beautiful cabinet and a beautiful piece of furniture. Please ask any questions you may have. I have attempted, as usual, to take suitable photographs but have to say I have failed to show the true excellence of this piece, it is much better when seen in person.
