Description

A wonderful antique set of chessmen, dating to the Edwardian era, around 1910, with the underside of the original storage box stamped with the number 5035 and marked Made In England.

A good large set and very well weighted, with the King standing 3 1/2" tall with a base diameter of 1 1/2", an impressive and tactile set.

The original Mahogany storage box is in exceptional condition with a sliding lid and even the original tissue paper on the bottom of the box interior. The lid is decoupaged with the highly sought after green and cream CHESS label.

A fabulous set in excellent condition.
