Antique English Heart Shaped Sterling Silver Box - Reynold's Angels - 1897

Description

A reasonably large example, measuring 2 1/4" x 2 3/8" and standing 1" tall.

This quality box features the ever-popular Reynold's Angels to the top of the box with a beautiful rope edge framing heart shape. The lid fits perfectly, nice and firm, also with a perfectly working hinge.

The sides of the box have a beautiful Art Nouveau naturalistic repousse decoration.

The underside has a full English hallmark for the highly collectible Chester assay office and the year 1897, making this a true Victorian example.

Excellent condition.
