Pretty Gold Coloured Mother of Pearl Antique Opera Glasses - French C.1900

Description

Dating to around 1900, it's not often one sees these unusual opera glasses with the natural nacre shell having been dyed before mounting on the optical frame.

Undoubtedly French, the frame too is rather special with two tones of metal, yellow brass and a reddish copper colour, all trimmed in a fine beading, creating a really special pair.

They come with a replacement carrying case, clearly having been retailed in more recent times by a smart London gallery.

Excellent condition, measuring 4" wide x 2 1/4" tall expanding to 3" tall.
