Rare German Polished Figural Desk Bell with Original Glass Eyes C.1900 - Owl

Description

A fabulous example and a rare find, this figural desk bell is in the from of a lovely Owl's face, beautifully cast in a white steel-type metal and polished. The integral feet have an almost Art Nouveau flair, which would fit with the date of manufacture, around 1900.

The Owl retains his two original large glass eyes, both without damage. The back is marked "Germany" and D.R.G.M. and the number 192197. This mechanical bell is in full working order being operated by the pressing of his bill.

Pristine condition, measuring 4 3/4" x 4 3/4".
