Lovely Oak Four Panel Coffer - Carved Frieze - c1700

This coffer chest is an attractive and functional piece of furniture.

Dating from c1700 the coffer is nicely presented and it is in good order. The coffer has a four panel front and lid and a twin panel side - this layout is unusual in a coffer of this size and adds greatly to the desirability of the piece.

Internally the piece benefits from a new oak lined interior and therefore is very clean and would make excellent storage.

To the front upper rail there is a carved frieze depicting a pleasing scrolling leaf design.

Overall a really practical piece of furniture in good antique order and a desirable size.
