Atropos Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
This cabinet was originally used for the protection and display of a collection of butterflies. It is ideal for a multitude of collecting pursuits and is of the very highest quality.
This fine cabinet has remained in the same family for 130 years. It has been carefully looked after and treated with respect.
It is very rare to find a cabinet of such quality and in such fine lightly used condition.

The twenty drawers glide like silk on the hidden runners and all have beautifully fitted glazed frames to the top. The glass is original and each drawer has a hidden cell. The drawers have cork lining to the bases and are papered with the original paper. If the buyer requires re-papering for the drawers we are more than capable of re-lining to the highest standard.

The original lock, keys and hinges are all present and the cabinet moves on hidden casters to the base.
