Early Leroy Large Carriage Clock

Description

Leroy & Fils, Clockmakers to the King, circa 1850. A rare and fine quality early example of a large carriage clock in gilded case. Corinthium fluted columns to the front and rear of the case. A decorative pediment and base. An engine turned silvered engraved dial with days of the week and month. Blued steel 'moon' hands. An 8-day duration mechanism signed by Leroy with 1/2 hour and hour bell strike. The original escapement. Numbered 2255.
