Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
Constructed of a solid mahogany frame with wonderful small turned mahogany legs ending in brass castors.
It has just been professionally reupholsterd using traditional horsehair, capoc and springs and then covered in a William Morris heavy silk fabric with delicate floral motifs in greens, oranges and reds against a champagne coloured background. It has no rips or tears and is spotlessly clean.
It has five positions to enable you to lie on it with comfort.
The colour of the fabric compliments the patina and rich colour of the mahogany beautifully and of course would fit in with any colour scheme.
The bed is firm and stable with no loose joints.
A genuine Victorian Arts and Crafts solid mahogany bed and because of the design, size and proportions very desireable.

It measures 27" wide, 67" long with the back fully erect, 80" long with the back down, 31" high to the top of the back and 18" high to the top of the seat.
