Charming Antique Glazed Walnut Jewellery Box C.1880

Description

A wonderful and most unusual Jewelry box, dating to the Victorian era, around 1880, made from Walnut and glass panelling all around.

Another wonderful detail is the impressed stitching design right the way around the wood, emulating the look of stitched leather.

The lid consists of bevelled wood and flat glass and the sides are created from flat wooden framing and thick bevelled glass.

The interior, including the removable tray, has been professionally relined, in a deep green velvet and leatherette paper covering the tray, again with a velvet pad.

The box comes complete with a working tasselled key. Perfect for a lady but equally perfect for a gentleman to store his cufflinks, watch and change.

Excellent condition, measuring 8 3/8" x 6 3/4" x 3 3/4" tall.
