Created from exotic and expensive Rosewood, this clearly stands out with the intricate engraved brass inlay filled with luminous iridescent Abalone shell; made more even more appealing with the four adjoined heart shaped motifs to the lid. The corners on the front and lid are joined by fine wavy inlaid brass stringing.
The box comes complete with a working tasselled key.
Dating to around 1850, Victorian in era, the box remains in excellent condition with a bright polished patina. 11 3/4" x 7 3/4" x 4 3/4" tall.
