A Fine Quality Boulle Tortoishell Mantel Clock

Description

A fine quality Boulle tortoishell mantel clock. Inlays to the front, sides and interior with inlaid back door and flooring. The original gilding to the cast mounts and side fretwork. A gilded engraved decorative pendulum. A cast dial with individual blue enamel numeral cartouches. An 8-day mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell signed by Rollin of Paris.

An good provenance with a hallmarked silver plaque to the rear presented to Sir TTFE Drake Baronet in 1858 by the Parish of Woodbury.

Height 14" / 36cms Width 8 " / 20cms Depth 4 1/2" / 12 cms.
