The circular original glazed hood door, with turned wooden bezel flanked by square columns.
The long trunk door with shaped top, with original acorn capped hinges, lock and key.
The fielded panel base set upon the original ogee bracket feet.

Cased stamped by the cabinet maker E Barker, Derby.
Circular silvered brass Roman dial, with unusual subsidiary seconds for Whitehurst, signed Whitehurst Derby to the centre.
High quality shouldered plates 8 day movement, striking the hours on a single bell.

The movement plates and castings stamped JW.
Original blued steel spade hands, uncommon on Whitehurst longcase clocks, similar in design to those used on Whitehurst hook and spike clocks.
Substantial brass bob pendulum with wooden rod.

Matching original cast iron weights.
A beautiful and very original clock of wonderful colour and patina, by a very good and well documented clockmaker.
