Elmgarden has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The table came from a charcutier or Pork Butcher’s shop near Paris, it is made in heavy beech wood. The solid square legs support the 2” thick chopping block, which has a steel lined knife slot at the back to keep the knives and sharpeners in, it has 2 drawers beneath and on the pot board at the base there is a brass edging to the front and the makers name plate
The chopping block is over 100 years old it had been well used but has much more life left in it, it is free of the dreaded French wood worm and will give an authentic Farmhouse look in a working kitchen
The Block is 28”x30” and it is 31” high
