JAMES McCABE ROYAL EXCHANGE LONDON Numbered 5148, an early example of an English carriage clock. A cast case with the original gilding. A silvered engraved dial. A finely engraved mechanism with diamond endstone and rarer feature of a duplex escapement.

James McCabe is a famous maker known for quality clocks and mechanisms. He was admitted to the clockmakers company in 1781 and died in 1811.
