Description

A wonderful and handsome magnifying glass with a beautifully shaped sterling silver handle. The silver ferrule is where the English silver hallmark can be found for Sheffield 1912.

The front of the handle has a stunning and glossy piece or antique tortoiseshell with highly decorative markings with colours ranging from golden champagne to rich chocolate brown. In turn this is beautifully inlaid with an intricate silver pique inlay

The glass itself is new (by Hilkinson), making it a perfectly usable desk accessory with a clear unblemished lens & a good magnification. Excellent condition, measuring 7 1/2" in length with the glass having a diameter measuring 3 1/2".
